1996 SPE Sporting Clays Classic
On September 20th, 61 shooters gathered at Woods & Water for the 1st Annual SPE Sporting Clays
Classic. We were fortunate to have such a beautiful day to shoot. There was plenty of food and drinks, and
lots of prizes. Thanks to Baker Oil Tools for providing pork chop sandwiches for lunch, to Halliburton for
providing steaks for dinner, and to Weatherford/Enterra for supplying the beverages.
I want to thank all of our sponsors. It would have been much more difficult and costly to present this

With the challenge of 100 targets (50 sporting clays, 25 5-stand, and 25 wobble trap), there was quite an
array of scores posted. Fortunately, for those of us who aren’t ready to go on tour, the tournament was set
up with 4 different flights. The winners received Woods & Water Gift Certificates as follows: 1st-$150,
2nd-$100, 3rd-$75, 4th-$50.
